We're Just a Family Helping Other Families
Return With Your Number was built by people who have been through mission preparation themselves and saw a problem nobody else was solving.
Hi, I'm Tim.
Like many of you, our family has experienced the excitement, the nerves, and yes, the long checklist that comes with sending a missionary into the field.
Somewhere between buying luggage, scheduling appointments, and making sure everything else was ready, we started thinking about something that almost nobody talks about:
What happens to their phone number?
Our family has had relatives lose phone numbers they'd had for years because no one realized there was another option. Suddenly they were trying to update banks, social media, and countless other accounts, while also needing to get their new number to friends and family. It was frustrating, and honestly, it just didn't seem necessary.
The interesting part is that we already owned a telecommunications company. Working with phone numbers, number transfers, and phone service is what we do every day. As we looked into it, we realized we already had everything needed to help missionary families keep their phone numbers, we just needed to build a service around it.
So that's exactly what we did.
We created Return With Your Number to be a simple, dependable, and affordable solution for missionary families. We knew missions are already a significant investment, so keeping a phone number shouldn't cost a fortune. Our goal was to make it easy, give families peace of mind, and take one more thing off their already full plate.
I'm also a returned missionary, so I know that serving a mission changes your life. But I also know that coming home brings enough adjustments without discovering you've lost the phone number you've had for years.
This isn't a new business we started to sell phone service. It's a service we were able to offer because we were already in the telecommunications industry and saw a need that no one else seemed to be meeting.
We're just a family helping other families avoid a problem we've seen far too many times.
Thank you for trusting us to help your missionary come home with one less thing to worry about, and hopefully, the same phone number they left with.
There are Four easy steps.
Provide your phone number, carrier, account information, and your preferred transfer date. We’ll automatically move your number on the day you choose. (Most families schedule the transfer for after their missionary arrives at the MTC.)
When your missionary returns home, we transfer the number to the carrier of your choice. They keep the same phone number they’ve always had.
Before you decide.
If something here is not covered, call us. A person answers.
Yes. That is the entire service. The number they leave with is the number that gets transferred back to them when they are home.
All major domestic carriers and some international ones. During signup we verify compatibility with your specific carrier before anything else happens.
$51 for 18 months, $67 for 24 months, or $62 and $79 with text forwarding. Paid once, before departure. No monthly charges and no fees on the way out.
Incoming texts to the preserved number get forwarded to a trusted contact at home, usually a parent. Banks, schools, and apps will keep texting that number for the whole mission, and forwarding means someone can act on those messages. If nothing important is tied to the number, you can skip it.
About ten minutes on your end. The transfer itself varies by carrier, which is why we recommend starting a few weeks before departure rather than the night before.
Yes, and most do. Parents complete the setup before departure in the majority of cases.
The phone number, the carrier, and some account details so we can authorise the transfer. We will tell you exactly what to pull together.
Often not. It depends on the carrier and how long they have been gone. Send us the details and we will tell you straight. If we cannot help, you pay nothing.
